Brandon & Kelly Harris, owners of Hudson Valley Cakery, decided to leave their professional careers in Virginia and move back to New York’s Hudson Valley to create their dream desserts in June 2012. They began selling cakes, pies, tarts and cookies to gourmet supermarkets and specialty stores in Rockland County and Westchester. In December 2012 they opened their retail store on Kings Highway in Valley Cottage, NY.  They bake everything from scratch on site using all natural ingredients- no hydrogenated oils, trans fats, artificial flavors or preservatives.

Kelly Driscoll Harris was raised in Highland Mills, NY where she started her career as a Social Worker.  She has her BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work.  Kelly has been a home baker since she was a teenager and often brought her baked goods in for her co-workers to enjoy.  Kelly was inspired by her sisters Laura and Maria who opened their bakery Laura’s Sweets in February 2011 to pursue her love for baking.

Brandon Harris was born and raised in Rockland County. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Albany. Brandon was an account manager in the seafood industry for several years selling fresh fish to specialty supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, and country clubs.  His love for cooking and baking at home with Kelly, entrepreneurship in his blood, and massive sweet tooth led him to want to open his own bakery.
